Comm Design for the Strategist
Spring 2024
Taught By: David Slatoff
Section: A

CRN: 13787

Credits: 3

Solid research, strategy, and ideas can easily be obscured through poor presentation skills, mediocre visual representations, and a lack of understanding around the use of images, graphics, and typography. Students in this course will be introduced to a range of visual narrative techniques that will help them to articulate concepts and communicate their ideas with clarity and persuasion in presentations, pitch decks, and portfolios. Exercises will focus on formatting with grid systems, choosing and using typography, developing information hierarchies, along with the supportive use of color and imagery. Strong design skills combined with proper pacing, and storytelling will enable students to better communicate in their future projects.
