Deconstructing assumptions about fashion and expanding definitions of dress, garment, accessory, fashion photography, and fashion publication. Students will build their own embodied research practice by constructing and wearing more than a dozen garments. All skill levels are welcome. There is no previous sewing experience required to take this course. The exercises and projects emphasize intuitive making and experimentation with construction, materials, forms, color, and issues of representation.
