This course is an introduction to the global fashion industry. It provides students with an overview of industry structures and systems, and the interrelationships between primary, secondary, and auxiliary markets. Students will begin to understand how design, production, and business decisions are made within the industry, including ethical, financial, and management considerations. They will also learn to recognize and interpret historical and contemporary perspectives regarding social, political, economic, environmental, and technological influences on the global industry as well as practices within it.
