In this course, students will approach illustration, presentation, and imaging through a digital lens, and will transcend analog media processes into digital space. Students will explore a variety of illustration and presentation styles in both static and time-based formats including GIFs and videos. Tools will include digital apps such as Photoshop, a drawing stylus, and a pressure-sensitive graphics tablet. Pressure sensitivity reveals additional options for graphics applications and new dimensions for personal and creative expression. In addition, iPad painting apps will be explored to supplement the creation process. Students will also receive instruction on motion art and digital video formats.

Open to: All University undergraduate degree students. This course is equivalent to PUFD 3351 Digital Fashion Illustration and may not be repeated for credit. NOTE: A pressure sensitive tablet (such as Wacom Intuos series) is required.
