In this course, we will examine the role of public relations in the fashion industry. Students will explore the integrated nature of communication and learn how to create a relevant brand narrative. They will learn how to research, analyze and pitch to the media, and how to earn coverage through social, digital and traditional media relations platforms. They will also explore crises and reputation management; strategic planning; innovations in technology; and paid strategies. Students will craft their own written and visual materials that utilize the theories, models and principles of public relations in practical applications. Upon successful completion of this course, students will have created and presented a portfolio of their own visual and written work.
