The Production Studio: 2026 Benefit
Parsons School of Design: School of Fashion
CRN: 20211
Credits: 0 TO 3
The Production Studio, housed within the combined college of Parsons, Mannes, Jazz, and Drama, collaboratively reimagines classroom learning with real-world client briefs to produce public-facing event activations that align with The New School's mission. From concept development through production, students take a real client brief to a public-facing outcome and leave with portfolio-ready work drawn from professional production experience. The first project to be undertaken by The Studio for Fall 2026 is the production of the Parsons, Mannes, Jazz, and Drama Benefit—an important university fundraising initiative for student scholarships taking place on November 17, 2026. This Studio project is directed and led by faculty and staff experts who will guide students in discipline areas including creative direction, spatial and scenic design, communication design, performance, technical direction, front-of-house and backstage production, content creation, and guest management. Please note, there is no regular day/time meeting for this course, but the student groups will meet on site on a clearly defined schedule provided by their lead faculty member.
