Fashion illustration's lineage can be traced back for centuries. Illustrations embody emerging aesthetics, inventiveness in art and design, and cultural shifts in society. In this course, we will examine the current and historical importance of the discipline, to help define its creative future. Students will build a studio-based practice and explore the purpose and power of fashion illustration with personal, artistic responses to the current modes in fashion and style. Students will develop their own body of creative imagery and gain an understanding of opportunities within the field. They will connect with industry professionals who will offer useful insights to support the development of methodologies for students interested in pursuing a career in this artistic realm.
