CRN: 3294
Credits: 6
Thesis 1 is the first in a pair of classes that span the senior year of BFA Design & Technology. Thesis 1 begins the year-long Thesis Project development process that culminates in a complete, polished project by the end of Thesis 2. During Thesis 1, students conceptualize, research, design, prototype and document their project. By the end of Thesis 1, students will have a proof-of-concept prototype, design documentation, a technical overview and production schedule that will be all be used to produce the project during Thesis 2. Students may work alone or in groups for the creation of their Thesis Project. The course is run in a studio format, which means all students are expected to participate in the making, discussion, and critique of work. All students are expected to contribute to the dialogue in class as a substantial part of their grade to demonstrate their understanding, questioning, and unique perspectives on the subjects studied.
