Specialized Studio 1 aims to provide students with the opportunity to develop an individual approach to design, thereby increasing their practical, theoretical, technical, and material application skills. Working collaboratively with Design Studio 3 provides students the opportunity to build additional skills and techniques within the context of specialized areas of focus in design aesthetic, materiality, and market contexts. Students will be introduced to 3D software technology such as CLO 3D and, if applicable, other previously-learned 3D software into their design process and final development. Specialized Studio 1 works collaboratively with Design Studio 3.

The Collection pathway challenges you to consider approaches to body, gender, age, and size, amongst others, in order to develop new narratives, definitions and terminologies within a clearly defined visual aesthetic beyond traditional contexts. Deep exploration in terms of research and process towards unexpected outcomes across gender is encouraged. Students are encouraged to redefine the meaning of a Collection.
