Critical Studio

Fall 2018

Taught By: Aaron Krach

Section: A

CRN: 3133

Credits: 3

In this studio students explore a range of visual, analytical, and making skills while working on projects that are individual, collaborative and cross-disciplinary. How do we make sense of our ideas, the information we collect, our hunches and theories? And what can these questions tell us about the decisions we make as creative thinkers? In this course, students we will explore research, prototyping and strategies for developing and expanding creative thinking and making. The studio integrates learning from students' prior writing and seminar courses and combines reading, writing and artwork in a manner that is essential to becoming professional artists and designers. Also, the Learning Portfolio will be introduced and developed in the Critical Studio.
