This course is an introduction to sound in virtual environments. The activities of the class are grounded in: a basic introduction to auditory perception; the behavior of sound in the natural and built environment; and precedents in art, architecture and technology. Students will be given an in-depth introduction to Adobe Audition and its tools to create surround sound. No experience with, or equipment for virtual reality is required.
