The groundbreaking animator Max Fleischer famously stated, "If it can be done in real life, it isn’t animation." This class is built on that idea, finding innovative ways to defy reality and bring images to life through animation. The class provides an exposure to various modes and histories of animation, as well as the influences of other media on contemporary animation. Hands-on projects like stop motion, projection experimentation with their animations, and rotoscoping. The course will encourage students to incorporate their aesthetic and develop work in discovery, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.
