In this course, students expand on the research methodologies practiced in Integrated Design Studio 1, with a greater emphasis placed on identifying design opportunities within neighborhoods, blocks, districts and communities in NYC. Students explore various people, places and local systems in NYC to gain an enhanced understanding of the interplay between the social, economic and environmental domains.. Students work both individually and cooperatively to conduct research and develop design proposals with an emphasis on effective communication as a tool to share and contribute practical skills and design and research methodologies that are learned in their studio disciplinary and studio elective courses.

Open to: BFA in Integrated Design majors only; others by permission of BFA in Integrated Design program. Pre-requisite(s): PUIC 2450 Integrated Design Studio 1.
