Core Studio 3 is an introductory course that builds upon students' technical skills and refines their creative vision while also engaging them in professional practices. The course focuses on digital motion and introduces students to digital video production and editing, sound editing, and visual style across multiple genres. Students examine the language and theory of photography in the context of moving image practices, using critical thinking and technical skills to develop their own unique visual approach. The course emphasizes conceptual development and creative strategies through hands-on work, technical demonstrations, screenings, short and long-term assignments, and classroom discussions. Students also gain a critical perspective through self and peer-to-peer evaluation, as well as through lectures, readings, and visits to galleries, museums, and commercial studios.
