In this course, you will be introduced to digital video production and editing, sound editing, and visual style across multiple genres. You will examine the language and theory of photography in the context of moving image practices, using critical thinking and technical skills to develop your own unique visual approach. The course emphasizes conceptual development and creative strategies through hands-on work, technical demonstrations, screenings, short and long-term assignments, and classroom discussions. You will gain a critical perspective through self and peer-to-peer evaluation, as well as through lectures, readings, and visits to galleries, museums, and commercial studios.
