CRS: The Teaching Artist in the Field
College of Performing Arts: Drama
CRN: 9161
Credits: 3
Students enrolled in this Collaborative Research Studio course have chosen to work as an Assistant Teaching Artist with a community-based organization. Throughout the semester, participants are asked to complete assignments leading to the creation of a unique, personalized, and informed teaching artist portfolio. Via class assignments, group discussion, and field work placement, students will explore multiple theories and practices in arts education that were introduced in CRS 1. This, combined with reflection and personal narrative, will provide students a platform from which to synthesize their own beliefs about teaching and learning, which will be developed into a personal statement and incorporated into the final portfolio.
