Audition Lab
Spring 2025
Taught By: Kelly McAndrew and Christa Scott-Reed
Section: A

CRN: 9332

Credits: 2

This course is a laboratory in which to learn how to effectively audition in various professional settings including theatre, film, and television. In addition to learning about traditional in-person auditions, students will learn how the industry has adapted to a changing landscape through self-taped auditions and live, online auditions. During fifteen weeks in this lab students will gain experience with a variety of audition monologues and sides including (but not limited to), current contemporary plays, TV, film, and theatre classics. We will also discuss other aspects of “the business” including professional resumes, headshots, agents, and more. The semester culminates in a live virtual audition with a major NYC casting director.
