College of Performing Arts: Drama
CRN: 9163
Credits: 3
Directed Research 2: Thesis is a research and process-based exploration of the development and presentation of dramatic material as a culminating experience to the Dramatic Arts degree. The research component will focus on three primary areas: factual, authorial intent, and correlative. Students will investigate these methodologies through class discussions, exercises, and writing prompts, and then make them actionable to support the final presentation of their Thesis Project as writers, actors, or directors. Successful completion of this course will require full participation in classroom exercises, assigned homework, out-of-classroom exercises, rehearsals, performance, and a process reflection of their research, goals, growth and challenges over the course of the experience.
