This course introduces students to the necessary skills required to audition and work in the diverse business of voiceover acting. Students learn how to access and consistently connect to their authentic voice while working “on mic.” Through mock auditions and instructor-led coaching, students develop the tools to break down commercial “copy” and deploy tools for instant character creation. Students apply the art of listening to playback to adjust, improve, and self-direct their reads in real time. Upon completion of the course, students will understand how to collaborate with a sound engineer and create a home studio environment using essential technology. Each student will leave the course with a polished radio or TV commercial spot to use for their VO reels.
