Intermediate Acting 1
College of Performing Arts: Drama
CRN: 19596
Credits: 2
This course builds on the foundations of Analysis Through Action II, deepening students’ exploration, through embodied rehearsal practice, of scene work through text analysis and character process sheets. Students integrate and apply analysis work to demonstrate an understanding of how a theatrical scene works in space and how each scene fits into the scope of the larger work to realize the playwright’s intent. This course meets concurrently with The Scene to extend students’ facility with collaborative processes between playwrights and actors, engaging in critical feedback and analysis to refine performance and texts of new pieces.
