LAB - UN and World Order- Colloquia and Site Visits
Schools of Public Engagement: Global, Urban, & Environmental
CRN: 3771
The Lab for "The United Nations and World Order," a co-requisite of the course, is where the background and skills learned in the class are applied and deepened through interactions with practitioners. The colloquium series offers rare access to high-profile UN officials, non-governmental organization personnel, international affairs professionals, and scholars who offer candid off-the-record assessments and illuminate the behind-the-scenes workings of the UN system. Each talk spotlights a particular theme and is geared to showing how theory and history informs and interprets norms and practice. Site visits are to places that are meaningful in understanding the work of the UN, and include UN headquarters, member state missions, and other significant spots that resonate with global governance.
