This course explores the intersection of design, power, and ethics, investigating the social and political environments that shape design. Using a project-based curriculum, students will develop critical thinking and ethical reasoning skills to navigate design's impact on society and to make informed decisions in their own design practices. Topics will include positionality, design justice, and co-design processes and feature the work of scholars such as Sasha Costanza-Chock and Shana Agid. **Students must register for both the lecture and discussion section of this course.** This ULEC is in category 1 - Tools for Social Change
