This course is a non-credit seminar for New School students who are currently Teaching Assistants or Teaching Fellows, or plan to apply for one of these positions. The purpose of the seminar is to provide a context to reflect critically on the practice of teaching, to introduce students to pedagogical concepts, and to assist them in developing their teaching skills. Particularly designed for first-time instructors, or those who have no formal pedagogical training, the course also provides a place for students to be supported as new teachers, to ask questions about teaching, and to hear from peers about their experience. Priority in registration will be given to students who have been offered positions as Teaching Fellows during the Fall , Spring, and Summer terms in the upcoming academic year.
