Examination of fundamental problems of theory instruction, with particular reference to elementary theory teaching as preparation for the study of analysis. Demonstration of specific teaching techniques, survey of standard textbooks, practice teaching, and designing a theory curriculum for college or professional school. Required for masters candidates in theory. This course may be used to satisfy the 21st Century Proficiencies (Pedagogy) requirement for Bachelors of Music students.
