Where do creative ideas come from and how do we express them? Drawing on our relationship with visual art, language, and universal experiences, we will explore bringing the ideas in our minds to forms we can share. Content will include non-traditional scoring techniques (graphic, conceptual, process, text-based) in addition to issues of the essential components of sound. Open to those with or without previous training. Inventiveness, curiosity and problem solving are encouraged. This course may be used to satisfy the 21st Century Proficiencies (Composition/Arranging) requirement for Bachelors of Music students.
