This course introduces students to the technical aspects of video production methods and how these can come together to tell compelling stories. Students learn how to manually operate a video camera, capture well-composed video images and great sound, then edit video and audio into a strong story. Students use their own smartphones as well as professional cameras, and learn the basics of editing in Adobe Premiere Pro. This course replaces LLSJ 3003 Newsroom Video Production 101 and students who took that course cannot take this course. Newsroom Video Production satisfies the Form Elective requirement for the Journalism + Design major.
