Fyodor Dostoevsky called his fiction a type of “fantastic realism,” while others have described his work as a display of “cruel talent” or of “the most that can happen.” This seminar will examine the last decade of Fyodor Dostoevsky's career, culminating in his 1879 masterpiece The Brothers Karamazov. Readings will also include Demons and Diary of a Writer. Students who have previously taken NLIT 3533 cannot take this course for credit.

Permission of the instructor will be required to register for this course after the first week of the semester.
