This performance ensemble course offers a space for musicians working with instruments, digital music production, various vocal techniques, and Hip Hop Skills to explore collaboration through composition and improvisation. We will study the works and techniques of Hip Hop/Hip Hop-adjacent master craftspeople, both acoustic and electronic, musical and lyrical. Interpretations of those techniques and styles will be applied to our own jam sessions with an emphasis on process over product. Students should have a strong practice with their instrument/music tools of choice. Familiarity with music notation is not required.
