Social Neuroscience is an expanding field which integrates the complementarity of biological and psychological approaches to understanding human thought, feeling and behavior influenced by the actual, imagined or implied presence of other human beings. The course will survey current research in self-awareness, social rejection, emotion, emotional influences on cognition, social cognition, self-regulation, trust, stereotyping, prejudice, empathy, interpersonal relationships and other core areas of the field. Prerequisite: One Lang fundamentals course or ULEC 2160, Introduction to Psychology, with a grade of C or higher.
