This intensive advanced DSLR workshop, which takes place over three consecutive Saturdays, is designed to give students a deeper understanding of advanced DSLR image-making and mastering specialized techniques. This workshop will review advanced composition, form, and color theory; high dynamic range photography; shooting RAW images; panoramic techniques and stitching methods; appropriate use of lens filters; low light portraiture and city lights. Students will examine influential photography and produce photos demonstrating the interdependence between photography and cinema in a hands-on, practical experience that will strengthen advanced cinematography skills.

This course is open to BPATS BA/BS Media Studies, BA/BS Liberal Arts, and minor in Film Production students only. All other undergraduate students may request permission three (3) weeks before the start of the course by emailing mediastudiesadvising@newschool.edu.
