The Films of Christopher Nolan This five-week course explores the work of Christopher Nolan, as part of this semester's auteur series studying the works of popular contemporary filmmakers. We will explore Nolan's canon in this course through multiple academic disciplines, such as Film Studies, Psychoanalytic Film Theory, Formalist Film Theory, and History. Students will discuss and deconstruct narrative elements and the social context of these films, while paying particular attention to filmic elements such as mise en scene, cinematography, editing and sound design. Nolan films discussed in the course may include the following: "Memento", "The Dark Knight", "Inception" and "Interstellar".
