This course will cover collaboration, teamwork, and group dynamics essential to effective functioning within organizations. The course introduces students to the stages of team development, how to build a cohesive group, development of group norms, barriers to effective teamwork and group decision-making dynamics. They will learn about classical and current theories about effective team building processes and cultivate new skills through experiential learning and develop a personal philosophy of working with individuals in a group that respects diversity and fosters inclusion and equity. They will also learn how to surface, manage, and resolve conflicts in team contexts.
