This undergraduate course is designed for high intermediate to advanced-level students who are interested in studying Spain, Spanish cinema, and contemporary filmmaking. Over the last decades, Spain has become a global player in the global Spanish-language film market, with wide distribution. The course will consider filmmakers through the last century, as well as a wide-range of issues related to Spain’s history, culture, national identity politics, and representational politics. [In Spanish] Proficiency: intermediate-high or advanced level Spanish language is required.
