This introductory course provides a foundational understanding of lighting design, exploring how light shapes interior spaces and influences mood, functionality, and aesthetics. Students will learn key design criteria and calculations essential to creating effective lighting solutions for interiors. Emphasis will be placed on the role of lighting in energy use and sustainability, equipping students with the knowledge to make informed design decisions that balance both visual impact and environmental responsibility.

Open to: Associate degree in Interior Design majors; others by permission of the Interior Design program. Pre-requisite(s): PAID 1030 Drawing Interiors 1: 2D and PAID 1211 Drawing Interiors: 3D
