This course is designed to build one's skills in silver based analog processes. Advanced and experimental film processing as well as archival silver gelatin printing are the major areas covered in this course. The history of film photography is discussed in connection with the techniques taught in class. Through technical demonstrations, hands-on workshops, and technical and creative assignments, students develop a working knowledge of the various mediums while also developing their own visual language.
