This course provides an introduction to the basics of darkroom photography, covering small format film cameras, darkroom processes, image development, and artistic techniques. Students will participate in hands-on demonstrations and collaborative problem-solving sessions to understand both the technical and creative aspects of using darkroom equipment. The course will also teach traditional darkroom techniques, including the use of chemicals and tools, to build foundational skills in image creation. Assignments will focus on helping students develop a creative vision by using film and darkroom methods, such as film paper processing, to gain artistic control and produce a final portfolio.
