Shoe construction 1 is an introductory elective course that focuses on the fundamentals of shoe design and the making process. Students will be introduced to design principles and construction techniques in order to produce an initial prototype. Students will build a technical skill base from which to develop design and technical competencies towards understanding of leather and other materials suitable for shoe construction. Students are expected to have an introductory understanding of patternmaking from a prerequisite course.
