This course offers students an opportunity to explore a variety of media or processes applicable to be utilized within fashion design contexts. Technical explorations and material manipulations will be encouraged; such as employing traditional solutions to deal with contemporary issues such as design endurance; creating new fabrication solutions; and using blended technology. Students will be encouraged to explore a range of design and technical processes in order to come up with creative material solutions that can be resolved as 3D fashion products or as original and innovative 2D fabrications.

Open to: BFA and AAS Fashion Design majors only.. Pre-requisites: PUFD 2240 Creative Technical Studio 1; or PAFD 1010 Textiles & Materials and PAFD 1110 Technical Studio; or PAFS 1020 Construction 1: Patternmaking, PAFS 1080 Construction 1: Draping, and PAFS 1090 Construction 1: Sewing.
