Core Lab Objects: Game
Taught By: Faculty TBA
This course serves as a complement to Core Studio Objects. The assignments are built to work in tandem, support and supplement the projects students are developing in the studio class.
Creative Technology: This lab is designed around a series of learning workshops that teach beginning and intermediate interaction design and code fundamentals through a hands-on engagement with physical computing, hardware, and data collection/representation tools. These workshops include soldering, reading and building schematics, using and making sensors, prototyping using a breadboard, and creating customizing PCBs.
Game: This lab provides production skills and processes to explore game design and playful objects from the point of hardware design. Students will be introduced to basic electronics, programming, and the design of interactivity by building simple electronic games and digital game interfaces with modern microcontrollers. Later in the semester, students will learn to setup proper communication between their custom game controllers and their digital applications to have a deeper dive in the relationship of software design and hardware design.
