This course will introduce the concepts of folklore and explore the traditional expressive culture of East European, Sephardic and Mizrachi Jews which includes narrative, proverbs, jokes, folk beliefs, rituals, holidays, food, customs, music, gender, and immigrant folklore in the United States.
