For students interested in writing speculative fiction, this course will include texts by William Gibson, Ursula K. Le Guin, N.K. Jemisin, Vandana Singh, Jeff Vandermeer, films by Hayao Miyazaki, Ridley Scott, and Denis Villeneuve, as well as the critical works of Mark Fisher and Amitav Ghosh. There will be a particular focus on worldbuilding.
