Poetry Workshop: Dreams
Spring 2027
Taught By: Angela Carr
Section: A

CRN: 18102

Credits: 4

This poetry writing workshop will examine deep imagery, non-linear time, figurative language, juxtaposition and other poetic devices that represent the logic of the unconscious. How are our experiences of reality translated via deep imagery? How are our most important narratives, whether personal or collective, recounted in dream-time or via association? We will examine surrealism as an orientation toward poetry and artistic creation rather than an isolated historical movement. In this intermediate level workshop, equal weight will be given to the creative process of writing and the deep work of revision.
