It is a course designed for students with at least an intermediate-high to advanced level of Spanish who wish to expand their conversation and writing skills. The course focuses on language and culture related to food and fashion in Latin America and Spain, offering a panoramic examination of food-related fields in connection to identity, immigration and history. And the study of fashion as an expression of social evolution, status and art through case studies, film, literature and media. Students will engage in creative projects, lively class participation, writing assignments and presentations. The course satisfies the following university shared capacities requirements: (1) Critical Analysis (2) Communication and (3) Ethical Reasoning.
