This course explores the concept of branding in the fashion industry. Students will explore how brands are created, structured and positioned in order to differentiate and promote products and services. They will investigate the role of visual and verbal identity in engaging consumers and learn how to leverage and communicate brand personality and values across media channels and touchpoints. This course will also explore how brands measure performance and define their audience/target market through data and insights. Note: PAFC 1200 Core 2, PAFC 1201 Visual Communication Lab 2, and PAFC 1500 Futures: Fashion Communication must all be completed before progressing to PAFC 2000 Professional Practices and PAFC 2100 Core 3: Capstone.

Open to: AAS Fashion Marketing & Communication majors; Fashion Business minors with pre-requisites or equivalent, with permission. Pre-requisite(s): PAFC 1000 Fashion Industry Survey, PAFC 1100 Core 1, and PAFC 1101 Visual Communication Lab. Co-requisite(s): PAFC 1201 Visual Communication Lab 2. NOTE: It is not recommended to take this course if you have taken PAFM 1061 Marketing 2 as it is very similar in content and structure.
