In this course we will build upon skills gained in Visual Communication Lab 1 and produce more developed visual communication outcomes for fashion. This course explores the various spaces - physical and digital - where visual messages and narratives are encountered. Students will be introduced to digital technologies such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) in order to consider how these technologies can be used in new and innovative ways within fashion marketing and communication. By the end of the course, students will have developed concepts and designs across print, screen and experiential media including for magazines, websites, mobile applications and retail environments. Students will be expected to develop the technical skills needed to execute the final outcomes through course assignments and supported by LinkedIn Learning and The New School resources. Note: PAFC 1200 Core 2, PAFC 1201 Visual Communication Lab 2, and PAFC 1500 Futures: Fashion Communication must all be completed before progressing to PAFC 2000 Professional Practices and PAFC 2100 Core 3: Capstone.

Open to: Associate degree in Fashion Marketing and Communication majors. Pre-requisite(s): PAFC 1000 Fashion Industry Survey, PAFC 1100 Core 1, and PAFC 1101 Visual Communication Lab. Co-requisite(s): PAFC 1200 Core 2. NOTE: This course is supported by optional, but recommended Adobe Creative Suite technical workshops.
