In this class students will explore innovative approaches to storytelling for children through conceptual explorations and formal experimentation. We will examine the commercial conventions of the children’s book publishing industry in the U.S. and look to be inspired by artists' books, zines, and other traditions in books for young readers from across the globe. Students will consider interactivity in an analog medium, book design, and print techniques as opportunities for expressive possibility.
